I went to Dallas/Fort Worth last Sunday to help Jai, my manager, shoot a music video for another artist. Her name is Christy B and she has a great R & B song that she did a video on. It was a great experience for me to be a part of another video from the other side of it. Jai did a great job on it as expected. I look for this video to be another great one. Shooting videos will drain you mentally and physically. They are very costly so there is no time to relax and take your time and it takes a team of people working together to make these things happen. I would like to thank Jai for making me a part of that team. It was an awesome experience that will only help me with my own career down the line.
The crazy part happened when Jai told me I had to be in a couple of scenes. That's right. Jay Hollis made an apearance in a R & B music video! I don't know if anything I was in will make the final edit or not, but I have to say it was very funny. I think I probably stuck out like a sore thumb. I was the only white person in the video. Not only that, I was dancing to the music with other actors in the video and I was the only one that has no good moves. I hope they will forgive me for that. It was a suprise to me too. Anyway, everyone was great to be around that day and they had a good time with me during those scenes. Thanks to everybody involved for making me as comfortable as possible. Keep an eye out for that one!

Hello Again!
Wow! It has been a while since I have blogged. I'm not sure if that is even a word but I'll use it anyway. I have been so busy lately. Christmas is closing in on us so I have been preparing for that. I am usually a last minute guy when it comes to Christmas, but this year has been different. For those of you beating your heads against the wall trying to think of what to get me, just give me a lot of money and I'll live with that. Ha Ha! I just thought I would try that and see if it works.
I played last Saturday night in Nocona, TX for a private Christmas party and boy did we have a blast. I want to thank the good people who hired us for that event. It has been a few weeks since I have played and it really felt good to get it going again. I have been sick for about three weeks but I'm feeling good now. Singing seems to help the healing process.
I have some really cool shows coming up in the early part of 2009. I will keep you informed and I look forward to seeing you at the shows. It looks like 2009 is going to be an awesome year for me!

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was really good and I was able to spend a lot of time with family that I don't always get to see. That's always cool. I missed my sister Christy her family from Brenham, TX. They weren't able to make it to this one.
This week is a big week for me and my music. My song "One More Day" will be sent to a lot of internet radio stations. It would help me out a great deal if you would take the time to request my songs. This is a good way to spread my music all around the world. Also, my 2009 calendar is still growing very fast and looks to be a very busy year for me and the band. I can't wait! I'll keep you posted.

Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Besides getting to eat like a hog, I get to see a lot of my family that I don't get to spend a lot of time with throughout the rest of the year. We are all so busy. That's really kind of sad. It's a shame that we get so busy that we don't even see our own family that often. Anyway, we will get to do some catching up today. This is also one of the most hectic days for me. I have so many places to go that I usually end up drained by the end of the day. I'm still looking forward to it. I hope your Thanksgiving is a great one!
I would also like to say thank you to everyone who has voted for my song on Ourstage.com. I am still doing well in that competition but I still need those votes.

ACC Top 40 Contest
I just checked out Ourstage.com and found that my song, "One More Day", has made the top 20 of the competition. There were almost 700 songs entered in the contest and I am 19th as of now. I actually forgot that my song was entered this month so I was surprised to find it so high on the list. The competition is very talented and will be tough to beat but we'll see how it goes. Contests are very hard but it's really cool if you win.
If you want to vote yourself, it is easy. Go to www.ourstage.com and click the "Judge" button. Then select the "ACC Top 40" station and judge. There are only 20 songs left in the competition so it won't take very long to get through all of the songs. The winner gets an interview with Kix Brooks of "Brooks & Dunn" on his weekly radio show, "The ACC Top 40"! I would really appreciate your votes and I approve this message!

Cold
I don't know about where you live, but it has been rally cold around here. It is really screwing up my extracurricular activities. It's very hard to play golf in this weather! Oh well, I guess that just gives me more time to sit inside and watch the Mavericks and the Cowboys play. The Mavericks are now on a small winning streak and that makes it more enjoyable to watch.
Kim and Matthew's daughter, Gabby, is out of the hospital now and she is doing a whole lot better. It's funny how fast you can recover from something like that when you are younger. I just hope that's all of the hospital time she will ever have. I know I've had more than my fair share of time in hospitals and I don't wish that on anyone.
It looks like I will be spending quite a bit of time on the road this next year. Starting New Year's day I will be busy playing shows. Be sure to check on my touring schedule so you can come and see me when I come to your area. I am looking forward to it!

True Friends
I found out today that my very good friends, Kim and Matthew, have a daughter in the hospital. Her name is Gabby and she has an infection that has moved into her hip. I pray for her to have a fast recovery and good health from here on. I grew up and went through school with Matthew and I know he will take good care of his family and I know they will have a lot of prayers said for them. Matthew and Kim have always been very close friends and have always been right there to help me with anything that I need. Matthew worked his butt off when we filmed my music video. I don't know what we would've done without him there. He has been a sound man for me at shows and Kim has also been there to help with everything. This is a couple that will do all the things nobody else wants to do and will smile about it and pretend they love doing it. True friends! Thank you, to the both of you, for all that you have done for me. I owe you a thousand tokens! No, not each. You will have to split them! Yes, I'm cheap.

Jay Hollis Sports Talk Blog - Volume 1
I promise I'm not going to turn this into a sports blog but I want to express my excitement for my two teams. First of all, the Dallas Mavericks finally pulled one off against the Knicks. That's right, they won! No, I'm not kidding. They barely got it done but they got it done and that's all that counts. The Dallas Cowboys also got it done tonight against the Redskins. I thought Romo, the four fingered quarterback, did a good job. I am not even a hardcore sports fan like it might sound but I do like for my home teams to be successful.
It looks like I have some song writing sessions this week and I'm excited about that. Nothing really beats performing live in front of a huge crowd of people who are into what I'm doing, but writing songs is right there close. I have always loved that part of music because anything goes. If the song turns out to be "no good", you don't have to play it for anyone. If you don't write songs, trust me, there are going to be some bad ones. That's OK because sometimes that's what it takes to get the creative juices flowing through your head. Good or bad, it is all rewarding for me!

"FORE"
Ok, so I got my butt kicked at the golf course today. I am going to officially blame the 40 mph wind that seemed to be about 10 degrees. Man, was it cold. Still fun though. You know, it's funny, I have been playing golf now for about four years and I haven't improved one tiny bit. I guess it doesn't matter, I'm not shooting for the PGA tour. I would like to play in a scramble with some of those guys though. I did almost get hit in the face with a golf ball that some guy hit in my direction. I never heard him yell the famous golf term, you know, the one that means "Hey! You're about to get smacked by a golf ball!" Good thing I have "cat like" reflexes! What are you supposed to do when someone yells "fore"? You don't want to look up and try to find the ball because, well, that's self explanatory. If you run, you could run right into the path of the ball. The only thing you can do is cover vital parts of your body and hope it hits somebody else in your group!
Now that you know a little about my golf skills, we should get together sometime and play a round. We could make it the "Jay Hollis Challenge" and fans could challenge me in a game of friendly, bruise-free golf. When I come to your city, get in touch with me, and I will try to fit in a round of golf with you while I'm there. I'm serious, it could be a lot of fun! Think about it!

Sponsors!
I guess the Mavericks won't win another game this season. It doesn't look like it anyway. Oh well, I'll just have to go golfing tomorrow to make myself feel better. That always seems to do the trick! Maybe it will help me get over this sickness that I came down with this week. It is kind of hard on a singer to get a sore throat and all that crud that goes with it. I have been lucky with that this year so far so I guess I can't complain too much.
I have been working this week with sponsors. I am buying a new cargo trailer to haul the band equipment in when I am on the road and I am going to deck it out with sponsor's logo's. It's going to be cool. I might even look like a Nascar racer going down the road with my "pimped out" trailer. Ha! If you are interested in being a sponsor or know someone who would, please don't hesitate to let me know. It's really a great deal for everyone involved. Well, I better go work on my golf swing for tomorrow although one days practice won't be enough to really matter!

CMA Awards
Did you catch the CMA's last night? I did. I have to be very honest about the whole thing. I have never understood why year after year they haven't ever got the sound right. I don't really know how it sounds at the actual event, though I hope someday I will get to. Anyway, it always sounds so horrible on TV. I don't get how every other show with music has it figured out, but not the producers of the CMA event. This is a big deal and they butcher it every time. I wish they would fix it so the artists that bust their butt all year to get the chance to perform on that stage, don't sound like they can't sing. It would help with the millions of viewers at home anyway.
Congratulations to the winners! It must be a very good feeling to receive such an honorable award for doing what you are so passionate about. I thought everyone that won was very deserving. With that said, I would now like to say I sure miss seeing a lot of the guys I always looked up to growing up. I remember when Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Alabama, Reba, and of course, George Strait were the ones on stage most of the night. I know George Strait is still there but I miss the others. Those were the 'good ol days' for me. I guess times change and days go by. Well, hopefully I will be lucky enough to be there very soon and I can start a brand new series of 'good ol days'!

Transfusion to-go please
Since I have had some time away from playing music, I have been spending my time catching up on work that I got behind on. That's always a fun game. Don't get me wrong, I actually love to work. I just hate thinking about it. For me, the hardest part about getting started, is getting started. Anyway, things are actually going well and I'm getting a lot accomplished.
This might seem strange but this time of year I am always thankful to be alive. I don't know if it's the way the air smells when winter is coming or if it's just the way everything feels that reminds me, but it was 13 years ago that I nearly died. Obviously I didn't and I'm thankful for that. I wasn't ready. I was bucked off at a rodeo and stepped on. It ruptured my spleen and I bled internally for about 19 hours. I'm no doctor but I believe that is a long time. I guess I was just too stupid to go to the hospital earlier than that. I suppose not being able to walk or stay awake for very long time wasn't a strong enough sign. Anyway, after hours in the emergency room and passing out during the x-rays, I went under the knife. I am thankful for the doctor that got out of bed early that morning and helped save my life. I had a bruised pancreas and kidney, no spleen, and I lost well over half of my own blood. That makes me thankful for the people who donated their blood so I could have some of it. Does that mean that I'm not really me anymore? I don't know. So, I'm reminded of that accident every year at this time. Sometimes I don't feel so good inside and it always happens this time of year. Weird huh? Well, I'm glad I could share this uplifting story with you today. (that's if you're still reading)
Stay tuned for more happy, uplifting stories just like this one next time on "Real Stories of Jay Hollis". Hopefully the others won't be so violent!

Well, it's been a little bit of a rough start for my Dallas Mavericks. They just almost pulled it off against the hard to beat Lakers but couldn't get it done in fourth quarter, again. Oh well, I'm still rootin' for em'. I am impresses with the new addition to the team, Gerald Green. He can dunk the basketball almost as well as I can. Ha!
That's all I can say about that. I better get to work looking for a band trailer and some new sound equipment. Don't forget to check out the new pictures on the website and all the new stuff on myspace!

Myspace
Man, my Myspace page is really rockin lately. If you haven't been to see it lately you should. It has several videos on it now and my songs have been getting a lot of plays every day. Thanks to Amy for keeping it looking good. She has done some great work to my page. I do, however, read my own messages and personally respond to them. With that said, leave me a message or a comment and let me know what you think of it.
There is a place on the lower left of my page where you can DEMAND me to come and play in your city. This is a brand new feature we have just added so it would be cool if YOU demand me. The more demands, the better. I've always said that! Also, my songs will be available to buy from the myspace page very soon. This is also a brand new feature that myspace has recently introduced. Be sure to check back to see the new video I am about to shoot!

PBR Finals
Another season of the PBR has come and gone. I remember when my friend and mentor Cody Lambert and few of his close buddies got together and started this association. I guess I don't really have to explain how successful it has become and what a good idea it was to start such an event. I do know that it has gone beyond their expectations. Congratulations to all the finalist and congratulations to the PBR. All that money up for grabs makes me wonder sometimes why I'm not out there after it like I used to be. Then I realize I haven't had to pay a hospital bill in a long time. That's a good thing! I haven't been injured yet from playing music!

I have so much to talk about and so little time. That seems to be the story of my life. Maybe that means I talk too much. Maybe I just ramble on too much like right now. Anyway, I had a meeting with my management team Friday in Arlington and it went great. It was long, but we had a lot of things to cover. We are about to release my single to a lot of places so keep an eye out for it. You would be helping me out so much if you would request my song wherever you are.
I will be shooting another video this week and I'm excited about that. It is such a cool experience. It will be posted on my website, as well as youtube and myspace for you to see it. I'll let you know when it is posted. I will also be in the studio again this week to finish up some things. There are so many cool things happening that I can't even begin to tell you all of them.
My 2009 calendar is still growing. I love to stay busy so I can't wait to get started. Those shows will be posted on the website and myspace in the near future. Also, check out the website to see new pictures we have posted of the CD release party!

I will be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area tomorrow to meet with my management company and discuss a lot of good things. I always have a lot of fun with those guys so I'm looking forward to it. However, I do feel sorry for them having to spend their day with me and my goofiness.(if that's a word) They are good at pretending that they like it.
We will discuss next year's tour as well as my next album. I love to write songs, so I have to pick what I want to record for you to hear. I will also be spending some time in the studio while I'm there recording vocals on some songs. I also love recording. I always learn more and more about the art of recording every time I step into the vocal booth so I can't wait. I'll keep you posted on that.
Once again I would like to remind you that my t-shirts are now available on my website! You can also buy a t-shirt and my CD from myspace. The address is www.myspace.com/jayhollismusic. Check it out! There will also be a lot of new pictures and videos posted on the website very soon.

Shirts Available
It's been a few days since I have written a blog. I have been very busy, you know, with the election and all that. It's not like I really did anything, but I was glued to the TV for a couple of long days so I felt like I was really helping out with the whole thing. I pray for our country to get through these times and come out on top. I'm not convinced that the election is the problem solver either way but I still hope we can come out on top, and soon. Enough politics.
My shirts are now available to you from my website. Just click on the store button and there they are! Right next to the "Jay Hollis" CD. We are already working on more designs so keep checking back for more choices. They are going very fast so don't hesitate to order if you are thinking about it.
Also, don't forget to check out the myspace page. It has been updated and it's looking really cool. The address is www.myspace.com/jayhollismusic. Drop me a note sometime and tell me what's on your mind. I'm leaving myself wide open!

Benefit
We had a wonderful turnout for the benefit Saturday night. There were a lot of good folks there to help support Teresa Spencer in her fight with cancer. Everyone had a really good time. It was a very well organized event with something for everyone. Of course, I had a great time as I always do when I am playing music. I would like to thank everyone who attended this event to make it the success that it was. I appreciate you and I know Teresa and her family also appreciate you.
I will be heading to the Dallas/Fort Worth area this week for a meeting and I will spend some time in the studio. I have a little bit of free time now to get all my ducks in a row to get ready for next year and it is much needed. Everything has been moving so fast and I could use a little catch up time before it gets even busier. Stay in touch.

THE BIRDS!
I just got home from watching Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" on the big screen at the Wichita Theatre in Wichita Falls, TX. I have seen the movie before but not on the big screen. I also didn't remember how funny that movie was until now.(as sick as that sounds) I guess with the special effects we have now, so many things just came across as humorous. I couldn't help but wonder why all the birds sounded just like cats. This isn't just me, everyone in the theater was laughing. Anyway, it was a good time and I'm glad I went.
I want to remind you about the benefit tomorrow night. It is a benefit for Teresa Spencer and it will be held at the Elks Lodge in Wichita Falls. The show starts at 8 pm. I will be doing an acoustic show with Amanda Hollis and Jeff Griner. It will be a good time. Be sure to stop by and see us if you get a chance. I would love to see you there and so would Teresa!

Cancer Benefit Saturday
I hope you enjoyed your Sangria wine responsibly. I know I did. I never left the house. I have been getting ready for the weekend. Halloween is tomorrow and that's always fun even though I don't understand what the holiday is about. Oh well. I will be playing an acoustic show Saturday, November 1st at the Elks Lodge in Wichita Falls, TX for a benefit. The benefit is for Teresa Spencer who found out she has cancer. That is never an easy road and a good benefit will be helpful for her. Not just to raise money, but it will show her how many people are rooting for her. Be sure to come out and see us if you can. It will be a laid back smoke-free atmosphere and it will be a lot of fun. My sister Amanda will be there singing with me along with Jeff Griner on bass.

I Love Sangria Wine
I just got home from town and I poured me some Sangria wine. Great stuff! Just ask Jerry Jeff Walker if you don't believe me! Anyway, I got on my website and noticed a new video has been posted. It's a wrap-up video of me talking about my CD release party. I have been doing these video blogs now and I have to say, it's taking me some getting used to. It is kind of a strange feeling turning the camera on and talking to myself for what sometimes seems like hours. I don't know why I find that strange, it's much like what I'm doing right now. With that said, check out what great news I have on the video blog! It might just change your life.
Anyway, if you haven't already, go get yourself some Sangria wine, a warm blanket, and put on your "Jay Hollis" CD and enjoy the rest of your day!

T-Shirts
Me and my computer had a long talk and I think we got everything straightened out now. For now anyway. You know how it is. These computers these days, they think they know everything.
I just sold four more "Jay Hollis" shirts tonight and I realized that these things are really going fast. I think it might be time to order some more. We still have a few left so don't hesitate to let me know if you want one. If we don't have your size, we will get it. I think we are going to get a couple more designs also.
I am really amazed about the number of great fans I have acquired lately. It's a great feeling. I work very hard to make quality music and it means the world to me when nice folks support what I'm doing. It would not be near as much fun without good fans. I have been fortunate enough to be picked up by several more radio stations around the nation as well as in other countries. If you would like to hear my songs on the radio, please call your local country music radio station and request "One More Day". The more people that call, the more they will play it. Then, hopefully everyone is happy!

Free Time
Despite computer issues, I will write this blog! Maybe one day I will be able to get on a computer without crazy things happening. I don't know if I have some weird blood type or what but something is interfering with my ability to perform at my highest level. Ha Ha!
I had the whole day off today and it was a good one. I have been taking advantage of my time off and spending a lot of time with the ones I love. This is good since it looks like free time will be a thing of the past. 2009's calendar is really getting busy. I hear that I might be going on a USO tour next year. That's awesome! That also means being gone for a long time. I can't complain about that when our military men and women have been gone for years and years fighting wars for me. I hope this tour works out. I feel like this is something I should do if I have the chance.
I will also be spending a little time in the studio this week. I always love to do that. I'll let you know how it goes!

Party Planning
It's been about three weeks now since we shot the "One More Day" video and the results are great! There have been so many views on youtube as well as my website and myspace. This thing is really taking off and I have to say I'm a little shocked how many people have watched it already. Hopefully we can get it put on GAC in the near future so the whole world can see it.
I also realize that I have to get started planning the video release party for the good people that helped me with this video. If you were a part of this project, don't worry. I haven't forgotten about it. I have been waiting for a free Saturday night to have the party. I will let you know as soon as I have the details. I want to say thank you again to everyone who helped me with the video and all the folks that helped make my CD release such a success. I am still hearing great reviews about that show! I will be posting pictures from that event very soon so keep in touch.

Wedding
I went to Jeff and Sarah's wedding tonight and it was a great one. Everything was great and I ate enough for everyone reading this. This is one of the few weddings I have ever been to that I wasn't playing music at. I love to play and sing, but I have to say it was really nice to be able to sit back and relax and take it all in. Congratulations to you both! You are both great people and I'm very excited and happy for you!
I have had a lot of people asking me when I will be doing my next video. I don't really know right now, but I do know the video will be for "Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame". I also know we plan on having a lot of people in this video. I'll keep you posted on that. If you are interested in being in the video, we will have a way you can contact us to get in it. The possibilities are endless with this song and I look forward to shooting it. I know it will be awesome! Everyone really seemed to love the "One More Day" video. I hear people I don't even know talking about it to their friends and I love it!

A Night Off
I want to say congratulations to my friend Lee Weaver for a great book signing party last night. I don't know too many people who have written books so I took a little time away from music and attended the party. I think he was surprised about the number of people who showed up to support him. It was a really cool thing and everyone had a great time. Now I guess I should read the book! I have to say I'm a little bit mad at him for not having enough pictures in it. That means I have to read more.
I also want to congratulate my friend and bass player Jeff Griner. He is getting married tonight! Jeff and his bride-to-be, Sarh, are both great people that would do anything for you if you needed them. I wish them the best.
I will be playing at a benefit on Saturday, November 1st in Wichita Falls at the Elks Lodge. The benefit is for Teresa Spencer who is battling cancer. Please come out and support this cause. I have found that benefits are good for more than just raising money. It shows the person how many people care about them and are willing to show up and give to help them. I think that means more to them than the money does, for sure. I will have all the details later in the week.

River Bend Concert
The weather was perfect tonight for the River Bend Nature Center Concert in Wichita Falls, TX. The temperature was great and the wind wasn't too strong. This was the final show for this season and the crowd was great. My dad and my little sister joined me and Paul on stage and we gave them a healthy dose of acoustic music. Everyone did a great job. I love slowing things down sometimes and really concentrating on good, close harmony. River Bend has already asked me about doing the opening show in March of 2009 so I'll keep you posted on that.
As I said in previous blogs, my 2009 calendar is really starting to fill up fast. This is really good news for me. I love to stay busy. I will have to be on the road a lot next year so I am getting prepared for that. I'm looking forward to taking my music all over the world. Be sure to keep checking the 2009 tour schedule for show dates near you!

Burrrrr!
I was working around the house today and it seems the cold weather has now arrived. No telling how long it will last but I love it so far. That perfect timing since I have an outdoor show to do tomorrow evening. I will be playing for The River Bend Nature Center Concert Series in Wichita Falls. This will be the final show of the year for this venue so we are looking forward to a great turnout.
Due to unfortunate circumstances for one of my band members, I have decided to do an acoustic show. The show will consist of myself, Paul Shults on guitar, Amanda Hollis, and my dad Steve Hollis. I'm really looking forward to this one. Nothing beats an up-close and personal show filled with family harmonies!
We are currently putting together a tour schedule for 2009. My calendar is starting to fill up fast and I can't wait to get started. Keep an eye out for upcoming dates near you!

New Videos Posted
First of all, I want to wish my mom a happy birthday! She is a big fan of mine.(imagine that!) My mom is a person that is not afraid of anything so she has me convinced that I can do anything I set my mind to. So, I would like to say thank you mom for your support and Happy Birthday!
I just checked out my "One More Day" video on youtube.com and it has been getting lots of views fast! That's awesome! Be on the lookout for more. We are adding a live performance video to youtube and even more to my website. Thank you to those who have watched the videos and thanks for the comments. I have said it before and I'll continue to say it, my favorite part of music is interaction with people. It is a lot of fun to get to meet new people and it's even more fun to hear their stories. With that said, please feel free to leave a comment for me. I will love it!
We will also be posting pictures of the awesome CD release party very soon. You will be able to see how much fun it was if you weren't able to attend. If you were not there, maybe you can catch me at another show very soon. I am in the process of booking more shows so check the website for updates on that. Also, I want to remind everyone in the Wichita Falls, TX area that the "Jay Hollis" CD is still being sold at Hastings Music so if you get a late night craving you can run down the street and get one!

It's Monday
Well, now that the CD release party is over I can kick back, prop my feet up, and take a deep breath - for about five minutes anyway. We have a lot of cool things still on the horizon and there's not much time for lounging. I forgot to mention in my last blog that now there are "Jay Hollis" t-shirts available to buy! It's about time I finally got this done. They went very fast at the release party and we already have orders for more. I think that's really cool! We will make it so you can get shirts from the website very soon and we are working on getting more designs so there are more options.
I am still overwhelmed by the response of the CD. I get a lot of messages from good people telling me how much they like it and I am very thankful for that. I worked really hard on that album and it is paying off. Be sure to leave me a message. I love getting them!
Please keep Jeff Griner (my bass player/drummer) and his fiance Sara in your prayers. Sara and her family have suffered a tragic loss in their family today and they will need those prayers.

White Elephant
I played an acoustic show tonight at The White Elephant in the historic stock yards of Fort Worth. This was not my first time to the White Elephant but it was my first time to play there. I have always loved that area of Fort Worth. I was there many times during my bull riding career and a good time is always there to be had. Thanks to Joni at Clubhouse Concerts for having me play.
I was the opener for Rich O'Toole and Cody Cannon. They were both nice guys and were good to listen to. It's always cool to meet other artists who are doing the same thing I am doing. There is always something to learn from other people like that. Thanks to those who came out to see me play. Your support means so much to me.

WOW!
What a party we had at the Iron Horse Pub Friday night! I was so happy with the number of good people that came out for my CD release. The place was packed with a very high energy crowd and man did we all have fun. Thanks to all of you that were there and bought CD's and T-shirts. It wouldn't have been nearly as fun if it wasn't for you. I would also like to say thank you to my manager Jai Hutcherson and his great management team, Amy and Jon. You guys have become great friends and you made my show a huge success! I am confident that we had a show that will not be soon forgotten by those who attended.
The "One More Day" video is still getting a huge response. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out on the website, myspace, or youtube. Also, "One More Day" is now available on many music websites like I-tunes, Rhapsody, and Amazon along with several others.
I will be at the White Elephant this Sunday night doing an acoustic show. This is a great place for live music and I'm really excited about playing there. Come on out and see the show if you can and be sure to stop and visit with me. The show starts at 6:45.

Goree, TX Homecoming
We had a great time playing in Goree, TX last night for the Homecoming party. Even though the school has since closed down and moved, the crowd was unbelievably large and everyone let their hair down and had a good time. Thanks again to you nice folks in Goree for having me play at your event.
I am still working hard everyday to make sure my CD release party is a big one. We have some really cool things planned so you won't want to miss it. Hopefully I will see you there, and it wouldn't hurt a thing if you brought all your friends with you. It will be a great show!

CD RELEASE PARTY
I am getting geared up for my CD release party October 17th at the Iron Horse Pub in Wichita Falls, TX. This is going to be a great event. We have a lot of cool things planned for the show and I hope you can be there for it. I will be playing at The White Elephant Saloon in the Stockyards of Fort Worth on October 19th so I have a lot to get ready for.
The response to the "Jay Hollis" CD has been overwhelming and the same goes for my new music video from my single "One More Day" so we are working hard to make sure the release party lives up to expectation. Come on out and have a good time with us and get a copy of the CD if you haven't already. You can still get a copy from my website as well as I-Tunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Napster, LaLa.com, and E-music. Hastings in Wichita Falls also has them for sale.
Be sure to check out future dates and the new video on my website. You can also find all the information for the CD release party on the website. Hope to see you there!

New Video Posted! Whoo Hoo!
Well, it's been a while since I have written a blog so there is a lot to catch up on. You probably already know about my music video being filmed and now you can watch it. We finished the editing yesterday and posted it online for your viewing pleasure! You can find the "One More Day" video on my website, myspace.com/jayhollismusic.com, or youtube.com.
I am very happy with the end result. It came out better that I expected which is great. I want to thank everybody who was involved in this production. It really means a lot to me that all of you would show up and spend your whole day to help me out. You all did a great job and it shows. I would like to say thank you to my manager Jai Hutcherson for "having it together" and keeping everyone on track. You have spent many hours on this project and you have done way more than any other management team would do and I appreciate it.
Be sure to let me know what you think of the new video. I would love to hear from you.

Video Shoot
We just finished shooting my first music video and it was freakin' awesome. Everything went so smooth all day long and there were not many oops and uh oh's. All of the actors were great and went way above and beyond my expectations. I am overwhelmed by the number of good people that showed up to participate in the video as actors and helpers. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this project. I couldn't have ever done this without you.
It will take a little time now to edit down all the footage we have into a three minute song, so now all we can do is wait. In the meantime, I have a lot of cool shows coming up that I have to get ready for, so maybe the time will go by fast. Be sure to check back on the website for updates on the video and shows. My songs should be available very soon at I-Tunes and other music sites so I'll let you know exactly when they are ready.
Thanks again to everyone who was a part of the video!

3 Days Until The Video Shoot!
Well, the video shoot is getting closer and closer. I still have a lot of things to get ready but the bulk of it is out of the way. This video is going to be great! Again I want to thank everyone who has pitched in so far to help this go smoothly. A lot of people have donated their time and supplies and I appreciate it.
There are so many things going on right now and it's going very well. I'm working on some dates for CD release parties along with radio promotion. Keep an ear out for my single "One More Day" on your radio station. Please don't hesitate to call your local station and request it! Stay in touch.

Music Video
I mentioned a music video a little bit in the other blogs. Now there is only ONE WEEK to go before we shoot this thing. This is so exciting for me. It's hard to believe that not long ago I was writing these songs for my CD and now I'm doing a video for "One More Day". My manager came down the other day and we scouted out locations for the filming. So far everything is working out perfectly. People have been very friendly and giving and are willing to help us with this project.
I had a meeting with a young lady this afternoon and she has agreed to be in the video. Nobody could be more perfect for this part. I might have to take on a second career in casting for films! I would like to say thank you to everyone involved with this video. You have already been very helpful and I know this video is going to be a success because of you.
Stay in touch and I'll keep you posted on the progress!

Picture Day!
It's been another crazy day, but the good kind of crazy. I had a photo session today. That always takes it out of me! It went great and I think we got some really cool shots. My manager came into town today to help out so things went very smooth. Plus, I have a great photographer.
After the photos, we worked on the upcoming video for my single, "One More Day", in detail. This is going to be the coolest thing. I can't wait to get going on this project! It's going to turn out great. Stay in touch and I'll keep you informed on our progress. Don't forget to check up on upcoming shows. I am booking CD release parties "as we speak" and I don't want you to miss a thing!

Lazy Boy Supper Club
I played at the Lazy Boy Supper Club in Archer City, Texas this past Saturday night. It was one of the best shows I have ever been a part of. The fans were great and held onto every word of every song. They also got to hear plenty of good stories from us and they laughed at all my jokes. (I think they were all drinking!)
I was joined on the stage by two other Texan singer/songwriters T-Roy Miller and Jerry Audley. We took turns telling stories and playing our songs. It was great to play with such talented artists in an up-close and personal setting. I look forward to playing that event in the future.
I am right in the middle of planning a music video for “One More Day”. It’s really exciting and I can’t wait to get starting shooting this video. Stay in touch and I’ll keep you informed on the video progress as well as upcoming shows in your area!

September 11, 2008
I just finished playing the September 11th Anniversary show in Wichita Falls. We had a great time and it was a great event. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the local law enforcement, firemen, and EMT. This is a day in history that will never be forgotten and I am honored that I got to entertain for this event.
I am heading to Dallas now to meet with my manager to discuss future plans. I’m anxious and excited about what is ahead of me. I’m a dreamer so I love the future! We will be visiting as much of the Dallas/Fort Worth area as we can in the short time we have so wish me luck.
I will be back for Saturday’s show at the Late Week Lazy Boy Supper Club in Archer City, Texas to swap songs with two other singer/songwriters. I’ve played at this show before and you don’t want to miss it. It is a very intimate setting so you feel like part of the family when you leave. I hope to see you there!

I have been very fortunate lately. I had a great article written on me and my music in the Times Record News. That was followed up by one of the best CD reviews I have ever read, and it was about my latest CD. You can read the review at the following link: timesrecordnews.com/.../hollis-debut-cd-james-taylor-made/?printer=1 .The response has been overwhelming and I thank all of you that have supported me. There are a lot of great things coming in the future.
I am getting ready for the 9/11 Anniversary. I will be playing an acoustic show at the Ford House in Wichita Falls, TX. I will follow that up with the Late Week Lazy Boy Supper Club in Archer City, TX. This a great venue for music. There will be two other singer/songwriters joining me on stage to do an acoustic song swap. This is a really good place for a date night. They will be serving a catered meal to go along with this one-of-a-kind show so get your tickets now and come see us.
Don’t forget to sign in on the website and leave a message for me and let me know what you think about the new CD!

Hotter N' Hell 100 Bike Race
I just played a show in Wichita Falls, Tx for the Hotter N’ Hell 100 bike race. It is a sight to see if you haven’t ever been to it before. There are about 12,000 entries for the race and that doesn’t include their family plus other spectators from the area so you can imagine how big this thing is. I was lucky enough to play at 10 am before it actually got “hotter than hell“. We had an awesome crowd and made a lot of new fans and friends.
Thank you to everyone who came out to see me and endured the heat and bought CD‘s. I am also working on some CD release parties in the near future and I will keep you updated on that. I would love to see you at my shows! Don’t forget, you can also get the “Jay Hollis” CD right here on the website and at Hastings music store in Wichita Falls, TX.

New CD Released!!!
I’m really excited about the release of my new “Jay Hollis” CD. The CD is made up of 12 original songs written by me so this is my “baby”. I put lots of hard work into it and I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. You can get your copy from my website and it will be mailed to you, or if you live near Wichita Falls, you can pick it up at Hastings. Right now I am working at getting it put on I-tunes as well as other music stores so keep checking in and I’ll keep you posted. You could also come to my shows and get a CD straight from me.
Speaking of shows, I’m playing at the Hotter N’ Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, TX August 23rd so if you’re there, push your way through the crowds and come see the show. Thank you for being such good fans and supporting my music. I have a lot of exciting plans for the near future. Check back often and I hope you love the brand new “Jay Hollis” CD.
